The world of elderly care devices has long stagnated in the same hospital-style approach to both their use and their design. The folks at Simple wanted a disruptive design that matched with their disruptive care technology, but that was also comforting and acceptable to elderly consumers.
From a functional perspective, the brief called for a much simpler and more intuitive way for a patient to call for help than the existing button-based systems. Anamaly developed a mechanical & capacitive approach that allowed the user to simply squeeze the device to call for help after a fall or when in distress.
